Cork Juvenile Open Tournaments

The first open of the season which was held in UL Brian O’Mahony and Tomas Howard reached the boys U15 doubles final and were defeated by the number one seeds, Matthew Lightbody and Paul Reynolds.
Cork had also a successful day at the u 11, where Ellen Millerick Ladysbridge reached the final of the singles and narrowly loosing, Ellen partnered Sinead O’Sullivan Clonakilty who won the u11 girls doubles.
Well done to all those who travelled and took part.
Next was the Connaught Open U11 and U 15 which was held in Galway. Brian O’Mahony defeated Mark Gannon Dublin in the final. Brian then went on to pair up with his doubles partner Tomas howard Dromtarriffe to take the doubles title with style.
Last weekend, Cork fielded 4 teams , who travelled to Ul to take part in the first round of the Inter county competition. this event caters for u11s up to u 17 for Cork, Tipperary, Clare, Kerry and Waterford, This year 5 teams took part in the u11 and u 13 age group.
4 teams took part in the u15 and u17 age group.
Cork won all 4 age groups,the first time a county has won all 4 events…
