Cork had some fantastic results at the All-Ireland Inter-County competitions recently in U.L. Class 2 defeated Wexford in the final. Class 4 qualified for the semi-finals which will be played at the end of March in Galway & Class 5 won the Munster Inter-County held in Killarney. For more info go to Inter-County page.

The 1st of the County Singles Championships were played on Sunday last. There was quite a good entry in most of the Grades. A very enjoyable days badminton was had by all. See results on Latest Results Page.
At the Juvenile Awards Night recently were: L to R, Oliver Deady, (Chairman, Juvenile Section CCBA), Ciare Buckley, Liz Horan, Wendy O’Mahony, (Secretary,) Myra Bernard, Aine Howard, Carmel Motherway & Leslie Smith, (President, CCBA.)
Cork travelled to U/L last Sunday to take part in the Inter-County Class 3 competition. In the 1st round Cork had Galway as their opppsition. The team played extremely well & came out of this match with an 8-1 win. Galway then went on to play Meath. Meath did likewise & won this match 8-1 also. This left Cork & Meath on similar points going into the last round. After the level doubles both teams were drawn at 2-2. Cork went on to clinch the match at 5 games to 3 with no need to play out the last game. Cork are now through to the All-Ireland semi-finals which will be played in Galway at the end of March. Well done to everyone involved.
